Hyderabad: With intense low pressure prevailing over Vidarbha and adjoining areas, several parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are seeing continued rains.

The Cyclone Warning Centre at Visakhapatnam has issued a warning of more rains in Andhra Pradesh, with heavy to very heavy rainfall in some areas over the next 48 hours and powerful winds along the coast.

Normal life in some districts in Telangana have been disrupted by the deluge. With many rivulets including Kadam and Lakhanpur overflowing, many roads and bridges have been submerged and thousands of people have been stranded.

The rains have stalled coal production in open cast mines in Bhadrakali-Kottagudem district and Bellampally and Mancherial belt for the last three days.

As the sky over Telangana and adjoining areas was covered with dark clouds and more rains were likely, farmers were happy. Heavy rains in the region as well as the neighbouring Chhattisgarh have brought heavy inflows and many reservoirs including Talliperu in Bhadrachalam are brimming with water.

However, no loss of life was reported from anywhere in the state.

The torrential rains across Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Khammam have brought cheer to farmers. The farming community was worried over a long lull during the monsoon.

However, in Hyderabad where thick clouds have dimmed day light for the past few days there were no heavy rains, just a few spells of drizzle.
