Hyderabad: In a major reshuffle the Congress party has removed Digvijay Singh as general Secretary in charge of Telangana state. He has been replaced with RC Kunthia, secretary, AICC.
Satish Jarkiholi is the new AICC secretary in charge of Telangana.
The change came close on the heels of murmurs of dissent among the party leaders of Telangana over Digvijay Singh’s style of functioning.
An official press release of AICC said,”Digvijay Singh has been relieved of responsibilities as general secretary in charge of Telangana.”
Earlier, Digvijay Singh was removed from the position of incharge of Goa and Karnataka after he had failed in the mission of forming the Congress government in Goa though the party had emerged as single largest party.
Digvijay was given the charge as general secretary in charge of Andhra Pradesh in 2013 and he continued in the position till the bifurcation of the state. However, he continued as in charge of Telangana.
