Patna:  A groom in Bihar came back home on his wedding day with a different woman than he originally intended to marry. But why: well, the original bride refused to marry him since he was bald.

The marriage of Dr Ravi Kumar, neurologist in a Delhi’s hospital, was scheduled to be solemnised with a girl from Sugauli village in West Champaran on Sunday.

The wedding party reached the house of the girl on the scheduled date and the guests enjoyed all the delicacies. Even the ritual of garland-exchange was completed in a very happy atmosphere.

The twist in the tale came when the groom reached the 'Shadi Mandap' (wedding venue) for the completion of final rounds of wedding rituals and removed his crown from his head.

Witnesses said after watching the groom nearly hairless the bride refused to marry him. Very soon, both sides tried hard to convince her but she remained adamant on her decision not to marry him at any cost.

Left unnerved, the groom's side launched an extensive search for 'bride' and eventually the groom was married with another girl named Neha Kumari from the same village at a local temple.

The bizarre incident took place in West Champaran district, some 200 km north of Patna, in the weekend.

A similar incident took place in Nawada district of Bihar on Tuesday when the bride Rani Kumari refused to marry the groom Sudhir Chaudhary after he fell sick during the time of wedding. Reports said the groom was soon admitted to a local hospital for treatment but the bride rejected the marriage.
