Fuqing City, Fijuan Province: Firefighters had to use a hacksaw to free a man whose head was stuck in a washing machine in Fujian, China.

The city's fire department confirmed that the victim, who was not named, bent over to try to check objects stuck at the bottom of the drum which he suspected was the cause of a malfunction — when his head got stuck in the washer.

His roommates, who heard the victim scream for help, tried to use all tricks, including the use of soap as a lubricant, to get his head out of the washer’s opening more easily —  to no avail.

After failed attempts, the roommates finally decided to call the fire department for help.

The firefighters, who found the shirtless man lying on the ground, whipped out a hacksaw to pry the machine open, uncouple the drum from the rotating mechanism and give the victim some breathing space.

Piece by piece, the firefighters broke the machine apart, eventually freeing the victim’s head from its metallic cage.

“I managed to stick my head into the machine very easily,” the victim told Chinese media, “so I don't understand why I got stuck on the way out.”

The man sustained only minor scratches to his head and neck during the attempts to remove him.
