US President Donald Trump used social media successfully when he was campaigning for the presidency, and he’s continued to use Twitter after becoming president.

His first tweet after winning the election was refreshingly positive. On November 9, 2016, he tweeted: “Such a beautiful and important evening! The forgotten man and woman will never be forgotten again. We will all come together as never before.” However, in over a year, he has used Twitter to contradict his own staff members and set the tone for his presidency. He’s called out “haters and losers” for criticising his approach to international relations, labelled all media organisations critical of him as ‘fake news’, insulted world leaders and threatened nuclear attacks. We take a look at some of his bizarre tweets.

This tweet was deleted five hours after it was posted — it had no context, but by then it had become a worldwide social media trend.
