Man drowns in Sharjah’s Al Khan beach

Sharjah: An 82-year-old Swiss man drowned on Friday morning in Sharjah’s Al Khan beach area where he had gone swimming, police have confirmed.

Sharjah Police’s operations room received a call at 9am on Friday about a Swiss man, identified as H.T.,drowning at Al Khan beach area.

Police immediately rushed to the site along with an ambulance and a rescue team. However, the man had already died by the time the police arrived.

The body moved to the forensic laboratory for autopsy. Police have asked the public to avoid dangerous beach areas when they go swimming and follow instructions posted at the beach
