Dubai: A number of residents and visitors flocked the three-day Eid Al Adha celebrations organised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Heritage Centre in Dubai.

The festivities, which began on Saturday, the first day of Eid Al Adha, in several of the country’s major shopping centres and councils, saw a high turnout and interaction from residents and visitors who enjoyed a series of cultural events and activities.

Saif Al Hajji, director of the executive office at the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Heritage Centre, who led the celebrations in Abu Dhabi, said: “Our main goal this year has been to widen the spectrum of Eid activities at all the major shopping centres and councils in the country, so as to effectively showcase the rich Emirati culture and heritage. Particularly in the capital city of Abu Dhabi, where Eid activities were held for the first time at the Galleria Mall on Maryah Island, there was a high turnout and interaction from residents and visitors alike.”

Al Hajji added that the he was happy to see a positive response from people of different nationalities and ages who took part in the different events and activities with their families and friends.

Residents and visitors who attended the events were able to enjoy different activities, such as henna and other customary Emirati festivities, and also had a chance to taste Emirati cuisine and watch live performances of traditional dances and songs. Children who attended received Eidiya, which was distributed at 15 locations across the UAE.

The festivities will continue in The Dubai Mall exclusively until October 11.
