Dubai: Food Surprises attraction Golden City drew a large number of residents and visitors touring Mall of the Emirates.
Located on the ground floor of the mall, the attraction was created out of 150,000 Maggi cubes with colourful wrappers.
The Food Surprises theme week is organised by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
More than 300 activities are taking place at five shopping malls and involves the support of 42 hotels of four and five-star categories.
With a budget of Dh5 million, Food Surprises has returned after three successful years of Sweets Surprises with an impressive lineup of activities which are a combination of entertainment and education for the people of different nationalities and age groups.
On the concluding day, the Golden City will be given to a winner to be selected through a raffle draw.
"The Golden City by Nestle is becoming very popular with the visitors. This type of attraction has remained a big draw with the crowd over the years," said Nashwa Ebrahim, consumer services supervisor at Nestle.
She said Nestle was also organising interactive competitions for both adults and children, A Cooking Day with Maggi, and Chocolate bags sale to raise funds for the Bait Al Khair charity house. Chefs will be creating on the spot dishes to relish by the public, especially women and children.
Braun, Better Life and Siemens joined the DTCM as sponsors for
the Food Surprises, in addition to Jumeirah, Emirates Culinary Guild, Intercontinental Hotel Dubai, Bab Al Shams, Nestle, Abela and Paris Gallery.
