Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has received a cable from King Mohammad of Morocco in which he extended his congratulations to the UAE on winning the bid to host the World Expo 2020.

In his cable, King Mohammad described the UAE’s achievement as a well-deserved win which once again emphasises the confidence the international community has in the UAE.

King Mohammad also described the win as international recognition of Dubai’s huge potential and capabilities which make it the most deserving city for hosting this event and for having the honour of being the first Arab and Muslim city to host it.

“It is an honour and a well-deserved crown, not only for the UAE but also for the Arab Nation and Islamic Nation, thanks to the achievements the UAE has made on its way to further progress and development, and to its prestigious regional and international stature.”

“I would like to affirm to you, based on the ties between our fraternal families and peoples and out of friendliness and fraternity, that Morocco stands by you and is fully prepared to contribute to your efforts to make this global trade and economic event a success, as we fully believe that it will represent a good opportunity to promote the rich heritage of the UAE and Dubai in particular, and the authenticity of its traditions, the diversity of its culture and the richness and size of its potential,” added King Mohammad.
