Dive Middle East Exhibition takes the plunge
Diving enthusiasts from across the Middle East have some good news this year with a dedicated diving show premiering this season alongside the Dubai International Boat Show.
The Dive Middle East Exhibition (DMEX) 2007 will bring together leading names from the world of dive equipment, supplies and services.
From Red Sea resorts down to the Gulf coastal regions, the Middle East is now a chosen destination for diving with temperate waters, spectacular sights and varied marine life.
Attractions
Emirates Diving Association (EDA) has teamed up with Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), to run the event alongside the world-famous Dubai International Boat Show, providing a natural meeting point for divers and marine leisure enthusiasts.
Among the attractions on display will be a diving demonstration platform and a floating exhibition area. Demonstrations will feature new underwater cameras and advanced underwater communication technologies, providing visitors onland with a glimpse of the sea depths.
"Many tourists are drawn to the UAE as a premier diving destination and it seemed a natural extension of Dubai International Boat Show to bring the diving community into the overall event," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.
DMEX 2007 will also focus on current diving trends in the UAE along with educational events aimed at children and diving clubs.
Part of group's mandate in the region is to help promote responsible diving and the protection of marine eco-systems.
