Dubai: Google launched today the ‘My Ramadan Companion’, a hub that will offer customised local information throughout Ramadan with the help of the company’s best technology.

The integration between Google’s best technology such as YouTube, Play, Maps and Search will allow users to enjoy features through the hub that include sunset timings in any given country, popular shows on YouTube, cooking tutorials, traffic status and calendar planning.

For the very first time, Google will be releasing a locally designed Google Now Cards feature, dedicated to the month, as part of the ‘My Ramadan Companion’ hub experience. Google Now Cards work according to the preferences set by the users. Individuals can also control the information they receive by managing their settings.

“We know how important it is for people who celebrate Ramadan to spend time with their loved ones. We hope that ‘My Ramadan Companion’ can take care of the little things that occupy people’s daily lives like managing their day, so that they focus on the things that really matter to them,” said Zain Kamal Masri, Product Marketing Manager at Google Mena.

Available in five languages — English, Arabic, Turkish, Bahasa Indonesian and Bahasa Malaysian — the ‘My Ramadan Companion’ hub experience will also aggregate local content on YouTube from more than 15 content creators across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and more.
