Dubai: Dubai Police have received a donation from an Emirati family to support police’s initiative to provide 30,000 iftar meals for workers in Ramadan, police said on Friday.

The family of the late Obaid Al Helou donated Dh360,000 to Dubai Police to prepare iftar meals for workers and needy people during Ramadan as part of the Year of Giving initiative.

The money was received by Brigadier Dr Mohammad Al Murr, director of the Human Rights Department at Dubai Police, who thanked the family for their gesture.

“Dubai Police always launch society initiatives and the nice gesture of the family is not strange as the late Al Helou and his family always support poor people as well as inmates, the sick and orphans,” Brigadier Al Murr said.
