Girl dies after being hit by speeding car in Sharjah
Child was crossing the road from an undesignated area
Sharjah: A nine-year-old girl was killed after being run over by a speeding car while crossing a road in Sharjah on Sunday afternoon, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.
The Pakistani girl, identified as D.N.M., was admitted to Al Kuwaiti Hospital after the accident but could not be saved, police said .
The incident took place as the girl was crossing the road from an undesignated area.
A police patrol and paramedics arrived on the scene after the police operation room was alerted about the incident at a round 4.30pm. The girl was transferred to Al Kuwaiti Hospital where she prounced dead.
Police said the driver of the car had been taken into custody and questioned at the Wasit police station.
