Fire hits Dubai restaurant

Dubai: Fire broke out at Bosporus restaurant on Jumeirah road on Tuesday morning.

Authorities said the fire was minor and that no one was injured or killed.

A civil defence spokesperson said the fire broke out an an area close to the restaurant’s facade at 6.08am.

“It is unclear what the cause of the fire was, and it is now with forensics to determine the cause,” the spokesman said, adding that the fire did not start in the kitchen.

The fire caused the glass facade of the restaurant to shatter, the spokesperson said.

Teams from Al Manara civil defence station attended to the fire, which was put out at 6.38am.
