Muscat: President of Egypt Abdul Fattah Al Sissi will pay an official visit to Oman on Sunday for the first time since being elected president in 2014, Egyptian local media reported.
Dr Ali Al Eisae, Oman’s ambassador to Egypt, told Al Fajr newspaper, that Oman is looking forward to his visit.
The visit is aimed at enhancing relations between the two countries in various fields as well as enhancing the coordination and consultation between them, he said.
There has been no official announcement from the Omani government about the visit so far.
On November 14, Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, met with Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed in Muscat, handing over a message from Al Sissi concerning regional developments and cooperation.
Shoukry was received by his Omani counterpart, Yousuf Bin Alawi, in Muscat airport, where the two officials discussed matters including the ongoing situation in Lebanon, before his meeting with the Omani ruler.
