Dubai: DXB Entertainments, the Dubai-listed owner and operator of theme parks, announced on Wednesday the appointment of Mohammad Al Mulla as the company’s chief executive officer effective immediately.

Al Mulla will replace Raed Al Nuaimi, with his appointment coming two days after DXB Entertainments said Al Nuaimi will be leaving his role to head a new business entity managing development projects across Dubai Holding and Meraas Holding.

According to the statement two days ago, Al Nuaimi will continue as a senior executive with DXB Entertainments, serving as managing director and executive member of the board of directors.

Al Mulla was previously the chief executive of Arab Media Group, a member of Dubai Holding, where he led customer-centric strategies and directed the group to attain strong market growth in the entertainment and media sector.

New attractions

In its statement to the Dubai bourse, DXB Entertainments said Al Mulla’s expertise in the sector in expected to further cement the company’s position as a provider of leisure and entertainment in the region.

DXB Entertainments is currently in the midst of work to open two new attractions; a Six Flags theme park, and a Legoland hotel. The company has also set targets of attracting 5.5 million unique guests to Dubai Parks and Resorts, and 6.7 million in total visits.
