Voice messaging now available for the first time in Oman

Muscat, Oman: For the first time Voice SMS service has been introduced in Oman by Nawras, country's second mobile service provider.
This new service allows customers to greet each other with their own voice rather than typing an SMS and this means being able to communicate in any language and with expression.
All Nawras customers can avail of the new service and there's no need for any registration or setup, according to the company, in which Qatar's Qtel is the majority stakeholder.
A company statement said that the new service is simple and customers can replay old messages even when roaming outside the Sultanate.
Compared to standard text SMS, Voice SMS adds the extra dimensions of flexibility and personalised messages, yet retains the convenience of inexpensive messaging. It solves any language problems and is easier for those who find it time-consuming or difficult to write a text message.
