Dubai: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) is to participate in the upcoming ABILITIESme Exhibition and Conference being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre as official National Telecommunication partner.

The exhibition is currently held under the patronage of Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and honorary President of the Future Centre for Special Needs.

“The TRA’s participation comes via the ‘Echo of Silence’ project, through which we use modern technologies to enhance the services provided to improve the lives of those within the disabilities and special needs communities. The TRA plays a pivotal role in improving the lives of those in this sector of society and this is a core aspect of our CSR strategy,” Mohammad Nasser Al Ganem, TRA director-general, said.

Saeed Al Suwaidi, Support Services Sector deputy director, said the TRA was exerting great effort to support the growing sophistication and increasing prevalence of smart services in the UAE as it considers this to be essential for societal progression.

“Extending the benefits of ICT to all sectors of society is essential and sponsoring high profile events such as ABILITIESme, is testament to our contribution towards this national effort. We are proud to be named the official National Telecommunication Partner and look forward to its participation in the event with great promise,” Al Suwaidi said.

The ABILITIESme Exhibition and Conference is positioned as a strategic and grassroots Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at supporting people with disabilities and special needs communities.
