Technocare starts programme to trade-in old mobile phones

Recycling a device assures the best prices and special offers

Dubai: Dubai based Technocare, a part of the Koohiji Group of companies, is set to introduce its foneswap programme in the UAE.

The web driven process provides an easy platform for mobile phone users to trade-in old mobile phones. It also facilitates vendors and retailers to utilise the programme for strategic marketing initiatives that allows customers to upgrade their phones or avail of rebates on other products purchases.

Pramod Kaddel, general manager of Technocare solutions, told Gulf News earlier this month that the offer is also an opportunity for Blackberry users to trade-in their devices if Blackberry services get banned in the UAE.

Trade-in or recycling of products through foneswap assures best prices, special offers and follows an easy process, the company said. The company organizes free pick up of mobile phones from home by Fed-Ex or can be taken to over 100 participating retailers in the UAE market.

Value assessment

Foneswap's large number of handsets listed on the website provides customers easy value assessment of phones depending on the model and working condition.

Payment is made within 48 hours with options that include direct to bank credit, cash collection from any UAE Exchange outlets, or benefit from redeemable vouchers at major retail outlets across the UAE.

"The introduction of the foneswap programme now enables us to offer a complete life cycle management of products from warranty management to end of life recycling.", Kattel said.

"The replacement and upgrade market in the UAE is one of the highest in the world with industry estimates suggesting figures of over two million handsets a year," he added.
