Company to resell connections under Nawras
Muscat: Samatel on Saturday night launched its telecom services as the reseller of mobile phone services under Nawras, who will provide them with the wholesale supply of network access.
Samatel is making use of an operating and technology platform provided by Effortel, the mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE).
Effortel operates a highly efficient, centralised platform which has been deployed by mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) around the world.
As the first Middle Eastern MVNO using the Effortel services, Samatel is at a significant advantage. The platform is highly configurable and allows Effortel's MVNO customers to act as more than simple resellers of mobile services.
That flexibility provides Samatel with the ability to design and operate bespoke mobile packages to address mainstream and niche audiences.
Commenting on the partnership, Wael Taher, Samatel CEO said: "Effortel's experience in launching and running its own MVNO ventures is very important to Samatel's success. Effortel is more than a technology partner — they are also valuable business advisers."
Prior to Samatel's launch and deployment phases, Effortel also provided the company with assistance in its negotiations with Nawras for the wholesale supply of network access services.
Additionally, Effortel provided expertise in business modelling to help refine Samatel's proposition to its target residential and SME markets.
"The hard work, dedication and attention to detail we have invested in Samatel means we can invite our customers to experience ‘a life of happiness' — a mobile service unequalled anywhere in the region," said founder and chairman Shaikh Khalid Al Matani.
"Our competitive rates are designed to deliver savings on both national and international calls."
