Muscat: Nawras, a Qtel Group company, has touched the two million mark in terms of mobile customers in Oman, a press release in Muscat said yesterday.

Since 2005, when the company started operations, the Nawras family has steadily grown with more and more people turning to it for their communication needs.

With each successive Nawras success, the company consistently keeps its focus on customers in order to deliver the products and services that are in line with their ever-changing communication needs. Starting as a mobile company employing 250 employees in March 2005, Nawras has now grown to become a full service provider with around 800 employees.

"We are extremely grateful to the more than two million people in Oman who are our valued customers and we thank them for choosing to rely on our innovative mobile service to get closer to their friends and families", said Ross Cormack, Nawras CEO.

"Now that Nawras has become a full service provider, we are excited to be introducing Nawras Broadband and Voice to homes and businesses across the sultanate and we are looking forward to serving a growing number of customers with even more services," Cormack added.

Nawras was the first telecom company in Oman to introduce a programme recognising and rewarding customer loyalty.

The launch of Nawras Rewards back in 2006 offered customers a selection of interesting discounts and special offers from partner companies across the sultanate. In 2008, Nawras invited all those spending a minimum of 25 Omani riyals per month, to benefit further from exclusive membership to the Nawras Elite Club.
