Etisalat expands IP VPN service to China
Etisalat partners with China Telecom to enhance Global IP VPN network
Dubai: Etisalat yesterday announced a further expansion of its global IP VPN (Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network) initiative by signing a partnership agreement with China Telecom to enhance connectivity options for customers from the UAE and China.
As part of this alliance, China Telecom will be setting up their node in the UAE to support its customer requirements for providing connectivity to UAE region by partnering with etisalat. By having a node-to-node connectivity with etisalat, China Telecom will be able to extend its customers connectivity in countries where it doesn't have coverage by overriding on etisalat's backbone. On similar lines, etisalat customers wanting to connect to China can now do so through the etisalat backbone network.
The IP VPN service will deliver feature-rich capability of a fully managed IP network while providing the reliability, quality and security of an MPLS-based private network environment. Both companies will also work towards offering value added services like Managed Services utilising their respective infrastructure.
According to Abdullah Hashim, Senior VP, Business Solutions, etisalat, "Our partnership with China Telecom is a significant milestone and will pave the way for delivery of world-class communication services to our customer base given the growing economic ties between both [the] UAE and China.
