Dubai: Two international submarine cable cuts may disrupt internet services, according to UAE telecom provider du in a statement on Monday.
The cable cuts on Sunday took place in Egypt, and between Chennai and Singapore.
Du said the cable cuts "may affect some internet users who may witness degradation in internet speed as we expect some slowness especially during peak times."
The telecom provider said that they have already begun repairs and that performance levels are expected to normalise "within the coming few days".
"We would like to assure our customers that we have taken immediate action to ease the situation by re-routing our traffic over multiple alternative cable systems to reduce the impact of the cable cuts," du said.
