The total number of mobile customers of UAE telecom provider du has reached over 1.75 million customers on March, the company announced on Monday.
Dubai: The total number of mobile customers of UAE telecom provider du has reached over 1.75 million customers on March, the company announced on Monday.
In its first quarterly review for 2008, du reported revenues of Dh756.5m, an increase of 18 per cent from the previous quarter (Dh639.7m) and 313 per cent from the comparable quarter in 2007.
The rising number of successful subscriber acquisitions made in the fourth quarter of 2007 led to the increase in mobile revenue for the quarter.
This increase in customer base resulted in a 20 per cent quarter on quarter revenue growth.
Fixed line revenues also continue to show significant growth posting a 19 per cent quarter on quarter increase reflecting the continued expansion of the company's fixed line network
Commenting on the growth, the chairman of du, Ahmed Bin Byat, expressed confidence in du's performance, saying that du will continue to achieve its set targets and add value to both clients and shareholders.
