Dubai: More than 270 ship repair companies operating at Jadaf Dubai will soon shift to the Dubai Maritime City once construction of the region's maritime hub is completed.

Jadaf Dubai recently organised a site visit for managers and representatives of companies operating at the yard, to Jadaf's new facility under construction in the Dubai Maritime City (DMC).

The visit was aimed at providing companies detailed updates on the prog-ress of the project and to give an overview of the facilities and services offered by DMC.

Hamed Bin Lahej, General Manager of Jadaf Dubai, said, "Once completed, DMC, with its world class services, will be the hub for all maritime activity, accommodating hundreds of companies from different the entire marine industry spectrum, both within UAE and outside.

"Adding a new facet to Dubai, the project will also satisfy the growing marine needs of our clients."

DMC is a massive one-of-a-kind project in the world, built on a peninsula currently under construction between Dubai Dry Docks complex and Port Rashid.

The city will be the hub for maritime businesses from six diverse sectors marine services; marine management, product marketing; marine research and education; recreation; ship design and manufacturing.

Once completed, the drydock at Jadaf will be relocated to DMC.

Jadaf Dubai, since its establishment in 1979, specialises in docking and undocking of ships, and is considered one of the busiest docking yards in the world, with both docks receiving all types and sizes of seafaring vessels.
