Multinational insurer RSA has signed up to “Tradeshield,” a cargo insurance platform provided by Dubai Trade, a cross-border trade facilitator.

According to Dubai Trade, RSA has been “integrated with Dubai Trade’s insurance platform to provide its e-Cargo insurance services to the trade and logistics community.”

The agreement was signed by Dubai Trade chief executive Mahmood Al Bastaki and RSA UAE and Bahrain chief executive Chris Dooley.

“Our new tie-up with Dubai Trade is yet another step in this endeavour and it will help us in meeting the insurance needs of the vital trade and logistics industry in the UAE,” stated Dooley.

Dubai Trade expects more companies to follow RSA and sign up to its e-services platform. Tradeshield is a dedicated website where customers can purchase insurance for cargo shipments.

“We are constantly working on enhancing Tradeshield by tying up with premium partners to create a true one-top-shop for all shipping related services,” stated Al Bastaki.

Dubai Trade offers integrated electronic services from a range of trade and logistic service providers in Dubai. According to Dubai Trade, the e-services are developed based on customers needs.
