Dubai: Huawei expects its 2015 global revenues to increase over 29 per cent to more than $60 billion (Dh220 billion) compared to $46.5 billion last year, fuelled by enterprise business.
“When most of the companies are struggling for growth, we are seeing growth to come outside of China,” Dong Wu, vice-president of global networking solution sales at Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technologies, said on the sidelines of the Huawei Network Congress Middle East 2015, which took place in Dubai on Monday.
Wu said Huawei aims to become a leading ICT solutions provider in the enterprise business market, by providing a broad portfolio of products and services to ensure an organisation’s ICT infrastructure and networks are highly secure, scalable and reliable.
Huawei achieved $3.12 billion revenues from enterprise business last year and it is expected to stand at more than $4.2 billion this year.
Out of the $3.12 billion, enterprise networking business achieved 32 per cent year-on-year growth in China and 25.6 per cent year-on-year growth outside of China.
“Growth outside of China will be much bigger this year, with Middle East contributing a bigger pie,” Wu said.
“We are just at the tip of the iceberg, but see a lot of opportunities. Going forward, our focus will be on enterprise business. Networks are migrating to agile network solutions to become self automated and deliver on-demand services when need,” he said.
At the event, Huawei unveiled its latest solutions under the Agile Network 3.0 architecture, embracing the Software-Defined-Networking (SDN) era.
SDN is a network technology, that is software-based, to be easily built and programmed for businesses to make faster decisions as well as give them more flexibility to evolve more effectively in bid to make the network as agile and flexible.
According to research firm International Data Corporation, the market for SDN technology in the enterprise and cloud service provider segments is projected to grow from just $360 million in 2013 to $3.7 billion by 2016.
Faisal Ameer Malek, chief technology officer for enterprise business at Huawei Middle East, said that network infrastructure is the backbone to the advancement of business innovation for Middle East enterprises.
“As connectivity between people and machines become more prevalent through the Internet of Things (IoT), CIOs will continue to leverage emerging technology to demonstrate its critical role in the growth and survival of their organizations,” he said.
