Dubai: UAE residents will be able to watch live TV channels from du’s network, even if they are not a subscriber, on multiple devices from July onwards.

“We are working on a monetised over-the-top approach, whereby du SIM card (postpaid or prepaid) subscribers or non-du subscribers can pay a monthly fee to watch it,” Sameer Geissah, vice-president of consumer home and multimedia services at du, told Gulf News in an exclusive interview.

He said the postpaid and prepaid facility for du subscribers will be offered in July and for non-du subscribers in September.

The operator’s internet Protocol television (IPTV) subscribers can now watch du View (app based) free of charge. It has currently 40 channels and plans to expand it to over 300 live TV channels.

The app is available on iTunes, Google Play or the Xbox One app store.
