Abu Dhabi: Khalifa Port handled 11 per cent more containers in the first half of 2016 when compared to the same period in the last year, Abu Dhabi Terminals, which operates and manages the port said on Sunday.
The port also reached a key milestone of handling five million containers on October 28. The record number was achieved serving the CMA CGM, a vessel belonging to ADT’s long-term customer, CMA CGM Pegasus. The port’s 2015 volume stood at 1,504,293 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit), up 32 per cent from the 2014 figure.
