Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Monday visited Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and acquainted himself with the market’s most prominent achievements and long-term plans.

Shaikh Mohammad was received upon his arrival by Ahmad Ali Al Sayegh, Chairman of ADGM, who briefed him on the market’s achievements since its launch in October 2015. During his tour of ADGM, Shaikh Mohammad was briefed on the market’s continued development.

Shaikh Mohammad then toured ADGM with Al Sayegh, who told him about the market’s contributions in supporting the economy of the UAE and Abu Dhabi. The Crown Prince then acquainted himself with ADGM’s strategy, which allowed it to record the fastest registration rate in the region for investment funds. He also looked into the details of the agreement signed between ADGM and the Monetary Authority of Singapore to set up the first platform for developing FinTech and encouraging innovation in the financial services sector between Middle Eastern and Asian markets.

Shaikh Mohammad also acquainted himself with ADGM’s plans to become a global hub for aviation finance, with ADGM succeeding in completing the first aviation finance transaction between Etihad Airways and Natixis.

Shaikh Mohammad called on ADGM’s employees to exert more efforts and utilise available capabilities to boost the UAE’s economic and commercial growth.

He added that ADGM, alongside the UAE’s financial markets, play a vital role in consolidating the UAE’s status as a leading global hub for business and financing by cooperating with other global economies.

Shaikh Mohammad was accompanied by Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, and Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority.
