Dubai: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Monday spoke at the the International Planning Meeting (IPM) for Expo 2020 Dubai, which was held at the Emirates Towers in Dubai

Shaikh Abdullah spoke on the importance of international relations in consolidating the foundations of peace, stability and sustainable development.

Also present at the event were Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation, Chairman of Emirates airline and Group, and Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee chairman, as well as representatives from more than 130 states and members of the general assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).

Shaikh Abdullah welcomed the countries participating in the World Expo 2020, and stressed that the UAE’s arms are wide open for all brotherly and friendly nations and people who love constructive cooperation, peace and achieving equality for all, according to state news agency WAM.

He said that the basis for the UAE’s international relations is to build a global community that is based on understanding, dialogue, mutual respect and equality.

The theme of the seventh session was ‘The UAE economy and the impact of World Expo 2020’. Speaking at the session, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, said that the UAE’s economy is resilient, cohesive and growing rapidly. He also spoke about the impact of World Expo 2020 on the national economy.
