Dubai: While employee engagement levels in the region are low, only a small proportion of workers are satisfied with the way managers run their organisations.

According to Aon Hewitt’s Qudurat study, 39.9 per cent of GCC nationals and 49.4 per cent of expatriates believe that their most senior leaders are making the right decisions in running their company and managing their staff.

Only four out of every ten national employees are satisfied with the ongoing, regular communication received from their leaders. Those who are in middle-management positions and the front line are least satisfied.

“There is a greater need for leaders to invest time in communication with their employees. Leaders need to increase their channels for open, genuine formal and informal communication,” the report said.
