Dubai: The Labour Ministry has announced that all staff working at the front desks of the Tas’heel service centres must be UAE citizens, meaning that this segment has completely been nationalised.
Assistant Under Secretary for Labour Affairs at the Ministry, Humaid Bin Deemas Al Suwaidi said that among the total of 732 UAE citizens employed at the Tas’heel centres, 644 men and women are working at the customer support centres and the rest are performing administrative duties.
Al Suwaidi added that the service centres embody the partnership between the public and private sectors in a manner that meets the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, which has been translated into the federal government’s strategy. This is in terms of the distribution of operational roles of government departments to the private sector to ensure the provision of quality service to customers by trained nationals, he said.
The licensing of these centres and the monitoring of their performances in line with the directives of Labour Minister Saqr Gobash have helped to achieve good results, especially in getting nationals employed in the private sector, Al Suwaidi added.
At a meeting called recently to discuss the future plans for expanding the service centres, Al Suwaidi also explained the preconditions for licensing such centres, including nationalisation of the staff and provision of good services to the customers.
