Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Government announced plans to launch "Jobs Abu Dhabi", a virtual job market, as part of its commitment to support the development of the business community in the emirate through the effective placement and matching of job opportunities.

In a statement released on Wednesday, it said that Jobs Abu Dhabi's was officially launched on October 19 at the Najah career fair held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre. It will create a forum for both employers and jobseekers to connect and fulfil their respective employment needs.

Best practices

To serve employers from both the public and the private sector in Abu Dhabi as well as job seekers from around the globe, Jobs Abu Dhabi has been developed leveraging global best practices in the arena of virtual job markets.

It will offer many features and functions to facilitate various job searching and vacancy filling processes. Some of these features include intelligent search criteria to facilitate instantaneous matching of job opportunities with qualified candidates, as well as mechanisms to ensure the currency of the job and CV postings. The site will be made available in Arabic, English and French.

Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Committee (ADSIC), the government entity spearheading the Jobs Abu Dhabi initiative, is currently in the process of on boarding all of the Abu Dhabi Government entities to the site as well as interested private organisations. A comprehensive Jobs Abu Dhabi marketing campaign will follow throughout the UAE as well as abroad.

This new initiative is in line with the visionary leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
