Dubai: From bestselling sedans such as the Hyundai Elantra to Rolls-Royce’s one-off Tiger Phantom Coupe and Cadillac’s XT5 crossover, the Dubai International Motor Show will have something for every motorhead out there when it opens today (November 10). In fact, the event will have as many as 157 models making either their global or regional launch, including Bentley’s first SUV, the very substantial Bentayga.

The show’s promoter is also hosting the first ever Motoring Nostalgia Museum for classics from the 1950s to the ᾽80s. For those with a future bend of mind, there will be 16 concept cars vying for attention.

The show will be open from 6pm to 10pm on November 10; 11am to 10pm on November 11; 11am to 11pm on November 12 and 13; and from 11am to 10pm on November 14.

“The Dubai International Motor Show has come of age on the world automotive calendar with a record number of international releases,” said Trixie LohMirmand, senior vice-president, Dubai World Trade Centre, the organiser.

The event is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors from 37 countries passing over the next five days.

It will again host the Dubai Distinctive Plates Public Auction by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) on Saturday, (November 14) from 4pm in the Al Multaqua Ballroom of the World Trade Centre. This is the second auction from the RTA held at the Dubai International Motor Show for unique license plates with and will offer 110 options.
