- Workers install fireworks in preparation for Monday's opening. The staging is expected to be 'the first of its kind'.
Dubai : While no official schedule for the inauguration of the Burj Dubai has been announced, one thing is sure. There will be amazing fireworks as installations for firecrackers, rockets and other pyrotechnic stuff are going on round the clock, as our close-up picture shows.
According to people with close knowledge of the proceedings, the fireworks choreography to be used in the ceremony will be "the first of its kind".
Rockets are being placed at several levels of the Burj Dubai, including areas very close to the top spire at a height of around 800 metres.
The dangerous task of installing the rockets is only feasible by using the tower's 18 building maintenance units, provided by Cox Gomyl, a multinational company based in Melbourne.
