Dubai: The UAE has surpassed France by 38 per cent in the rate of expenditure on cosmetics.

Euro Monitor International Research Company has pointed to the increase in cosmetics expenditure in the UAE, in comparison to several European countries, such as France.

The UAE cosmetic spending has been found to be above that of France by 38 per cent and above the UK by 6 per cent, which indicates that the country represents an important market for beauty, make-up and cosmetic products, on an international level.

Analysts expects the beauty industry sales to continue growing and increasing in the Middle East with the existence of opportunities of skin, hair, and general appearance care for men in a market which harbours the most important names and trade marks in the industry.

The Dubai International Trade Centre hosts the activities of the Beautyworld Middle East from May 24 to 26 which is considered the optimal platform for introducing cosmetics, hair care products, perfumes, and body health products in the region.

Elaine O'Connell, Senior Show Manager, Beautyworld Middle East said that the major products displayed at the exhibition have maintained their good performance level despite the difficult economic situation.
