UAE's water projects in focus at Spain expo
The UAE's pavilion at the Zaragoza International Expo will be inaugurated today by Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour and chairman of the National Media Council (NMC).
Zaragoza, Spain: The UAE's pavilion at the Zaragoza International Expo will be inaugurated on Saturday by Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour and chairman of the National Media Council (NMC).
Officials from Arab and other countries, members of the UAE delegation, and deputy chairman of nmc Salim Saeed Al Ameri who is also deputy in-charge of the UAE pavilion.
The UAE's participation in the 2008 edition of the event comes in response to an invitation by Spanish King Juan Carlos to President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nah-yan.
The Zaragoza Expo 2008 is being under the theme 'Water and Sustainable Development'. the UAE will showcase its pilot projects and rich experience on conservation, management and development of water resources,
The pavilion will span 580 square metres. The UAE, which participates in the global water event along with 96 countries, will reveal some of its innovative solutions to the age old problem of supplying sufficient water to meet the demands of a burgeoning population and massive urban, economic and industrial expansion.
Eight documentaries showcasing the country's pilot projects and experience on conservation, management and development of water supplies will be played on a giant screens in the pavilion.
The films were made by famous freelance wildlife filmmaker and documentary cameraman Doug Allan over eight months using the latest underwater and topside shooting technologies.
Gobash said, "The creative works aim to promote the UAE s tourism, media and culture and come as part of a creatively formulated long-term campaign."
NMC has also produced new posters, featuring UAE civilisation, which will be showcased to visitors at the event.
