UAE government officials get competitive
Emirates Competitiveness Council organised a workshop for officials in the Federal Government and their local counterparts on the importance of building and developing local skills to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE.
Dubai: Emirates Competitiveness Council organised a workshop for officials in the Federal Government and their local counterparts on the importance of building and developing local skills to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE.
This workshop, which was held in Dubai, is part of the Government's efforts to offer pertinent training opportunities to the public sector's senior officials, enhance their professional capabilities, and develop competitiveness standards and strategies.
Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Secretary General of Emirates Competitiveness Council, said: "This workshop offered an opportunity to explore the best international practices in training and building local skills."
"It is in line with the UAE Government's strategy of developing human resources, enhancing their skills, enriching their knowledge and providing an opportunity to share their skills with their counterparts. We are looking to advance the competitiveness skills of UAE's individuals and institutions, and meet the high international standards through a study-based programme."
Lootah added: "The workshop is in conjunction with the Council's directive of developing competitive strategies, policies and initiatives in the country, enforcing competitiveness across all sectors and improving collaboration between Federal Government departments and their local counterparts. It also aims to identify the main aspects that are essential to enhancing the competitiveness of the public sector."
