Doha: The UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nah-yan, emphasises the principle of development for all nations, UAE Minister of State Reem Al Hashemi stressed.
The UAE is at the forefront of donating countries and providers of supports for development efforts worldwide, she said in a speech at the Conference in Support of Development and Investment in Comoros held in the Qatari capital which ended Wednesday.
The UAE, she added, adopts a development policy which aims to establish development and stability all over the world.
The UAE has provided fin-ancial assistance, via the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), to fund infrastructure projects in the Comoro Islands, she noted.
The UAE has announced a $10 million (Dh36.78 million) grant funding to the Comoro Islands as a contribution to the development and reconstruction efforts in the Arab country.
The UAE was represented at the meeting by Minister of State Dr Maitha Al Shamsi, senior officials from the Foreign Ministry, representatives of ADFD and UAE ambassador to Doha Abdul Reda Abdullah Khoury.
Some of the UAE-funded projects in the Comoro Islands are still under construction, she said.
