Seoul: South Korea's Transport Ministry said that Toyota will recall nearly 13,000 vehicles in South Korea due to possible defects involving rubber floor mats.

A test conducted by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority showed problems in three vehicle types: the Lexus ES350, the Camry, and the Camry Hybrid.

The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said on Tuesday that problems related to the fitting of rubber floor mats on the vehicle's accelerator presented potential danger in safe operation of the accelerators.

Since last year, Toyota has recalled more than 8 million vehicles worldwide, including more than 6 million in the United States, because of acceleration problems in multiple models and braking issues in the Prius hybrid.
