Abu Dhabi: Tawazun Holding has bought an ammunition factory from Adcom Systems, a group of 30 plus companies specialising in the manufacturing of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), aerial targets and air traffic radars in the UAE.
Ali Al Daheri, General Designer and CEO of Adcom Systems, told Gulf News he sold the company's ammunition factory to Tawazun last month.
However, the price at which it was sold remains confidential.
"Why do I need it? We are going for technology," said Al Daheri when asked why he decided to sell.
Al Daheri said the group also didn't want to be in the ammunition business anymore. "We have no relationship with Tawazun. It's a good company and they have their strategy and we had a good deal," he said.
Past clients
The factory used to sell defence ammunition to the French army and to countries such as Saudi Arabia, the GCC countries, England, and Australia among others, he said.
Today, Adcom Systems is moving away from traditional and conventional products to highly advanced ones, he said
Countries such as "Canada all the way to Mayalsia" are using such systems.
"Now the Germans are interested and the Europeans are interested," he added.
