Abu Dhabi: General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received King Juan Carlos of Spain at Emirates Palace.

During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammad and King Juan, who is on a three-day visit to the UAE, discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in various political, economic, trade and cultural fields. They emphasised the importance of exerting more efforts to further develop bonds of cooperation and current partnerships between the countries.

Later, Shaikh Mohammad and King Juan attended the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding on cultural cooperation and the setting up of a joint committee for cooperation.

The MoUs were signed by Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, and Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo, Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

Later, Shaikh Mohammad hosted a lunch banquet in honour of King Juan and his delegation.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, Hessa Abdullah Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to Spain, and a number of Emirati and Spanish officials.
