Dubai: Modhesh World, which claims it is the region's biggest indoor education and entertainment venue, is all set to open its doors this summer on Thursday.
The venue is also set to be a main attraction of the 13th Dubai Summer Surprises.
Running until August 7, Summer Surprises at Modhesh World will feature around 40 themed zones with plenty of entertainment options for children, teenagers and grown-ups.
Attractions this year include a fun fair, a scooter zone, the Modhesh Magical Forest, a 4D cinema display, an inflatable zone, magic planet zone and a mini zoo.
Soccer fans will also have much to look forward to as Modhesh World broadcasts live telecasts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup on giant screens in the Sports Zone.
Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment Chief Operating Officer Yousuf Mubarak said: "Modhesh World is synonymous with family entertainment during DSS".
"Over the years it has grown to become a destination in itself, given the fact that it attracted around 500,000 visitors over a span of 65 days in 2009," he said.
"Our endeavour every year is to bring innovative and exciting entertainment to Modhesh World and this aspect will be visible this year as well.
"Apart from emphasising the quality of entertainment at Modhesh World, we also want to highlight the fact that Modhesh World is affordable, secure, and most of all, set in entirely airconditioned surroundings, making it all the more the enjoyable for families."
Free zones
Yousuf also said ticket prices were the same as last year Dh10 for adults and Dh15 for children with numerous free zones to choose from.
The venue will be open from 10am to 10pm between Saturdays and Wednesdays, 10am to midnight on Thursdays and from 3pm to midnight on Fridays.
Ride a pony
Yousuf said big entertainment companies would be part of Modhesh World this year such as key sponsors Magic Planet and HB Leisure.
Other sponsors include Dubai World Trade Centre, Coca Cola, Emirates, masafi and Union Co-op.
Modhesh World has created a special zone in which kids can ride horses, camels and ponies. There would also be plenty of other cute animals in the mini zoo, which this year will be a first at Modhesh World.
Other fun sections at Modhesh World will be: Toddler Play Zone, Sports Zone, Bounce and Adventure Park, Arts and Crafts Zone, Heritage Display, Modhesh Magical Forest, Scooter Challenge, Al Maidan youla dance area, 4D cinema zone and Modhesh Friends Club.
