Abu Dhabi: The Crown Prince of Norway, Prince Haakon Magnus, will start an official visit to the UAE on April 13.

He will be accompanied by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Energy and Foreign Trade, in addition to more than 80 businessmen.

His visit aims to strengthen economic relations between both countries and support cooperation in renewable energy, oil, gas, environment and marine transportation fields.

Green cities

The visit will include meetings and seminars in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, besides meeting the management team of Masdar to exchange experiences on the establishment of green cities free of carbon and generating power from the sun and wind.

It will also include a seminar in the Mina Al Salaam Hotel in Dubai on cooperation between both countries in marine projects, ports and employment of modern technology in maritime transport and maintenance of large ships.

The programme of the visit also includes an econ-omic forum to be held at the Emirates Palace under the title "Partners in Sustainable Solutions, Terms of References and Technology".

It will focus on the potential for cooperation between the two sides through discussions and seminars on resource management and officials in the fields of oil, gas offshore and sustainable development to achieve excellence.

The prince and Yousuf Omair Bin Yousuf, CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), will speak during the forum.

A number of senior UAE officials and a group of experts and specialists in the field of economy from Norway will participate in the open discussions during the meeting.

During his visit, the first festival of Norwegian food and traditional cuisine will be held to illustrate the civilisation and culture of the Norwegian people.
