Abu Dhabi: UAE Foreign Trade Minister Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi Sunday discussed bilateral relations and ways to boost them with Abdul Hamid Al Traiki, the Tunisian State Minister for International Cooperation and Foreign Investments Affairs.

The two ministers also discussed means to bring business persons from the two countries together, in addition to the current investment projects being implemented by UAE firms in Tunisia.

Shaikha Lubna stressed the UAE's keenness to boost trade and economic cooperation with Tunisia, while Al Traiki emphasised his nation's readiness to further develop and expand cooperation with the UAE, adding that the UAE's investments in Tunisia were the first at the Arab level.

Non-oil trade between the two countries stood at $90 million (Dh330 million), with the UAE's exports to Tunisia touching $68 million. The UAE's imports from Tunisia were $22 million.
