Indian firm eyes 10-fold annual growth in UAE
Navayuga Engineering hopes to get Dh300m worth of projects by the end of this year
Dubai: Indian construction firm Navayuga Engineering Company, which is handling a Dh35 million project for piling and foundation work in Abu Dhabi, expects to grow its business in the UAE 10 times by year-end, a senior official said.
The company said it is bidding for work at several developments of major Abu Dhabi developers Aldar and Sorouh. At present it is working on just one site for Tamouh Investments, the master developer of Al Reem Island.
Navayuga is expecting to get another piling and foundation work contract from the developer for another Reem Island site, where "hundreds of buildings will come up," general manager Antony David said.
"We are also trying to get work for bridges and flyovers in the Reem Island project. We are looking for government projects as well, especially from Abu Dhabi Municipality. Our estimate is that we will have Dh300 million worth of projects by the end of this year," he told Gulf News.
The infrastructure specialist, which began operating in February in the capital to take advantage of ongoing large-scale real estate projects, at present employs 50 people, but plans to have 300 skilled personnel and engineers on its payroll in six months.
"A lot of projects are in awarding stages and we stand a good chance of getting some. We have 22 piling rigs and 18 crawler cranes to handle 10 projects at a time," David said, adding that at present just three rigs are in operation.
Navayuga Group will also be bidding for port-related work in the UAE, especially at the upcoming Khalifa Port in Taweelah.
