Dubai: Four major Dubai-based companies have been awarded the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry CSR Label for their efforts to become leading businesses in corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

Commercial Bank of Dubai, Standard Chartered, 3W Networks and FedEx were presented with the Dubai Chamber CSR Label during a ceremony at the Chamber's head office recently.

They are the second round of firms to be granted this recognition standard by the Dubai Chamber following the first CSR Label presentation in May.

Hesham Al Shirawi, Vice-Chairman of the Chamber, presented the CSR Label certificates to the four companies.

He said that through the CSR Label, the Dubai Chamber is determined to identify best responsible practices, to establish a reference within the business community, and to encourage the adoption of international best practices with regard to CSR and sustainability.

Exceptional showing

"Today, the Dubai Chamber has acknowledged four companies that have shown exceptional performance in corporate social responsibility and sustainability. These companies are pioneers of CSR in the region and are helping to lead by example and demonstrate the increasing sophistication of Dubai's business landscape," Al Shirawi said.

"The CSR Label helps establish a new standard in terms of transparency regarding CSR challenges and will inspire the whole business community to develop their own strategies on responsible practices," he said.
