Dubai: The Burj Khalifa has received another shot of celeb glamour. Indian actress Shilpa Shetty spent her first wedding anniversary this week with husband Raj Kundra at her new home on the 19th floor of the world's tallest building, Indian media reported.
According to a source close to the actress, "Shilpa was thrilled when Raj gave her the luxury apartment. It's his wedding anniversary gift to her. He gave her the keys in Mumbai a week ago.
She had visited Dubai a few months ago, had loved the building and expressed a wish to live there. The couple took a three-day break to celebrate their first wedding anniversary there."
NDTV.com said Shetty will design the interior of the apartment before she heads to Bangkok on Friday to shoot for a shampoo ad.
Unfortunately for her, Shetty had an attack of pharyngitis on Saturday morning. She was to fly to Dubai on Sunday but had to postpone her trip by a day, the website reported.
"Shilpa suddenly developed 103-degree temperature on Saturday night and a bad bout of pharyngitis.
"Though the fever waned by Sunday evening, her voice has gone completely. She was in much pain but they didn't want to cancel their trip. Raj and Shilpa finally left [on Monday] morning," the source told the website.
