Al Owais named DIAC acting director
He now holds the position of executive committee vice-chairman
Dubai: Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), an initiative of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced yesterday the appointment of Dr Hadif Al Owais as its new acting director. Dr Al Owais will replace DIAC's current director, Dr Hussam Al Talhuni.
Established in 1994, the DIAC is an independent, non-profit institution that has established itself as one of the most prominent arbitration centres locally and regionally providing flexible and impartial mechanisms in resolving and settling international disputes.
Dr Al Owais is no stranger to DIAC as he holds the position of its executive committee vice-chairman. In his new capacity, Dr Al Owais' primary focus will be on supporting the local and regional business community by continuing to provide the best commercial arbitration services that live up to the global reputation Dubai has achieved.
"To guarantee a seamless transition of leadership, we have unanimously chosen Dr Al Owais as the new acting director of DIAC and he has our full and complete support," said Dr Habib Al Mulla, vice-chairman of DIAC.
